LANSING – State Representative Woodrow Stanley (D-Flint), along with State Representative Robert Jones (D-Kalamazoo), Chair of the Michigan Legislative Black Caucus (MLBC), invites residents to a free health fair on Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Hasselbring Community Center in Flint. The community event will offer residents free health screenings and informational sessions to help improve their physical and economic health.
"Being healthy isn't just about feeling well, it's about living well," Stanley said. "This event will give the community a chance to not only start living healthier lives, but also to contribute to the overall health of our community. By taking care of ourselves and each other, we can make Flint a stronger, better place for all of us to live, work, do business and raise a family."
The health fair will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hasselbring Community Center, 1002 W. Home Ave. in Flint. The event will provide health screenings and informational breakout sessions on a variety of topics, including information on how to live a healthy lifestyle, how to manage your finances, how to start a business and how to do business with the state. Lunch will be provided, free of cost.
For more information about the event, please contact Stanley's office toll-free at (888) 966-3034.
"Financial difficulties and money problems can manifest as real health problems, hurting both individuals and their families," Stanley said. "In these tough economic times, we're all being forced to tighten our belts, and I hope this health fair can help people that are struggling to make ends meet."
