PROJECT:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is scheduled to complete soundwall inspections on I-475. Work will
extend from Kearsley Street to Saginaw Street. Crews, who will work in the shoulder area of the highway during daylight
hours, will collect condition data along a 4-mile stretch of I-475. Ongoing inspections, which MDOT expects
to schedule through September, will be announced.
MDOT consultants will be requesting permission for access from residents whose property borders on
the soundwalls. Access will be required to accommodate shoulder work and the movement of
work zone materials.
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
Intermittent daytime shoulder closures will be in effect throughout this project.
For up-to-date information on this project, go to the list of statewide lane closures at: www.michigan.gov/drive.
CUSTOMER BENEFIT:
MDOT's Construction and Technology Division and the URS Corporation will complete the scheduled inspections to help assess the overall structural condition of the I-475 soundwalls.
